Werabur, September 7, 2025 – The Children and Youth Fellowship (PAR) of Windesi Classis celebrated its 2nd anniversary in a solemn yet joyful thanksgiving service. The celebration took place at GKI Betel Werabur, the host congregation, and was attended by 430 participants, consisting of Sunday school children, caregivers, and teachers from several congregations within Windesi Classis, including GKI J.A. Van Balen Windesi, GKI Yauna Papoto Yauna Bepui, GKI Elim Tamoge, and GKI Efata Werianggi.
The sermon reflection was delivered by Candidate of the Word, Paulus Kapisa, S.Si.Teol, who carried the theme: “Becoming Children of God Who Love Others and Have a Sincere Heart” based on Genesis 45:1–28. In his reflection, he emphasized the calling of God’s children to live in love with sincerity of heart, even when they are hurt, wronged, or treated unjustly. He highlighted the example of Joseph, who continued to love and forgive his brothers despite being betrayed and sold by them.
“Children of God are called to repay evil with kindness, to love sincerely, and to remain steadfast in Christ’s love. This is the calling that must be instilled in our children from an early age,” he said in his message.
In addition to the message for children, the reflection also encouraged Sunday school teachers to remain role models, patient, and diligent in guiding children amid the challenges of today’s world.
On behalf of the Windesi Classis Executive Board, Deputy Secretary, Elder Irik D. Karubui, also delivered remarks. He invited all present to give thanks to God for His grace that has guided the PAR of Windesi Classis since its establishment on September 7, 2023, now reaching its 2nd year.
“Remain faithful and diligent in this ministry. Be children of God who love one another, and let us uphold togetherness as the focus of our service in 2025,” he conveyed in his closing message.
The highlight of the celebration was marked by the cutting of the anniversary cake and fellowship meal as a sign of unity and thanksgiving. Meanwhile, congregations unable to join due to geographical and transportation limitations also held thanksgiving services in their respective places, without diminishing the joy of gratitude for God’s work through PAR Windesi Classis.
Through this 2nd anniversary celebration, it is hoped that PAR Windesi Classis will continue to grow as a place of faith nurturing for children and youth. Their presence in the church is not only as the next generation but also as active bearers of Christ’s love from an early age. With the spirit of unity, PAR Windesi Classis is committed to advancing its ministry, strengthening faith formation, and building a generation of young believers who are loving, sincere, and God-fearing.
