Tamoge (Kab.Teluk Wondama), April 17, 2025 — A total of 68 children from various Sunday School levels took part in the Easter Camp 2025, held from April 17 to 21, 2025. This five-day event served as a space for spiritual growth, character development, and fellowship among children in a joyful and meaningful setting.

Participants came from three different Sunday School levels: Younger Children, Pre-teens, and Teenagers. Throughout the camp, they engaged in various spiritual and creative activities aimed at strengthening their faith, building discipline, and encouraging collaboration.

The camp carried the theme: "Stay Faithful to Jesus in Daily Life" based on Philippians 2:1–8, with a sub-theme: "Understanding Faithfulness and Unity Through the Death and Resurrection of Christ." These messages served as the foundation for every activity throughout the program, encouraging children to embody Christian values in their everyday lives.

The event was officially opened with a Worship Service, led by Candidate for Preacher Paulus Kapisa, S.Si.Teol., who delivered a sermon based on Philippians 2:1–11. In his message, Kapisa emphasized the importance of humility, loyalty, and unity, as exemplified by Christ, and encouraged the children to apply these values in their own lives at home, at school, and in their church community.

Rev. Maria Wayar, S.Si, Chairperson of the Church Council (PHMJ), shared in her remarks that the Easter Camp is not just a recreational spiritual event, but also a valuable character-building experience for Sunday School children.
“In this camp, the children not only receive spiritual lessons, but they also learn discipline, obedience, and faithfulness. They are taught to work together, care for one another, and live in unity. We hope that after this camp, the children will show better attitudes and behavior in their daily lives,” said Rev. Maria.

During the camp, the children were given several biblical teachings, including:

  1. Peter’s Denial (Matthew 26:69–75), teaching about human weakness and the importance of repentance.

  2. The Death of Jesus (Matthew 27:45–56), helping children understand the depth of God’s sacrifice and love.

  3. Living in Unity and Following Christ’s Example (Philippians 2:1–5), encouraging them to build strong fellowship.

  4. The Resurrection of Jesus (Matthew 28:1–10), strengthening their faith and hope in daily life.

To support the children’s enthusiasm, the organizing committee also prepared various supporting activities that were both educational and fun, such as:

  • Team Games, promoting teamwork and cooperation.

  • Talent Classes / Creative Groups, allowing children to explore their abilities in drawing, dancing, or crafts.

  • Creative Performances, where participants expressed themselves through art and music.

  • Christian Film Screenings, designed to reinforce moral and spiritual values.

  • Easter Egg Activity, symbolizing the joy of resurrection.

  • Nature Walks, helping children appreciate God’s creation while learning endurance and unity.

The atmosphere throughout the camp was filled with warmth and excitement. Many of the children expressed their joy and gratitude for being part of such a meaningful event. Some shared that this was their first time attending a camp like this, and they felt it was a valuable and eye-opening experience.

Rev. Maria Wayar concluded with a message of hope: “We pray that the values taught during this camp will stay in their hearts. May they continue to be the light in their homes, in church, and in their communities.”

Easter Camp 2025 was not only a spiritual gathering but also a milestone in building a faithful and united generation ready to grow in Christ and live out His teachings every day.(Paul Kapisa)
