Tamoge, July 21, 2025 – A joyful and thankful spirit filled the congregation of GKI Elim Tamoge as Windesi Classis celebrated its 3rd Anniversary. More than just a ceremonial event, this celebration served as a spiritual moment of reflection and thanksgiving for the growth and journey of ministry in this young yet committed classis.

The series of activities took place from July 20 and culminated on July 21, 2025. Several competitions were held to foster fellowship and encourage active participation from local congregations, aiming to sharpen their biblical knowledge, musical talents, and faith expression. The three main competitions included:

  • Bible Quiz Competition, with 9 participating teams from various congregations;

  • GKI in Tanah Papua Anthem Choir Competition, featuring 4 choir groups performing with great harmony and passion;

  • and the GKI Confession of Faith Competition, with 9 individuals boldly and faithfully expressing their understanding of church doctrine.

Adding to the celebration’s warmth, a guest team from GKI Bethel Idoor, Bintuni Classis, also participated, symbolizing a strong spirit of inter-classis fellowship and mutual support—a living testimony of unity in the body of Christ.

The highlight of the anniversary was the Thanksgiving Worship Service, led by Rev. Agustus R.B. Torey, S.Si. Teol. In his sermon, he emphasized the importance of faithfulness in ministry and encouraged the congregation to see these first three years as a foundation for deeper, more impactful service in the future.

The worship was followed by greetings and reflections from several key stakeholders, including representatives from the Nikiwar District Government, local indigenous leaders, and the Windesi Classis Board of Workers, all of whom appreciated the church’s role not only in spiritual formation but also in contributing to social and community development.

The celebration continued with a symbolic cutting of the traditional tumpeng rice as an expression of gratitude, followed by diaconal ministry, where tokens of appreciation and love were shared with local church workers and ministry leaders.

In his address, the Chairperson of Windesi Classis reminded everyone that youthful age is not a limitation, but an opportunity to build strong foundations. He emphasized the importance of growing in stewardship, performance, and administration, while maintaining a humble and teachable heart in service.

The 3rd Anniversary celebration served not only as a festive event but also as a spiritual checkpoint, reminding all involved that ministry is not just about achievements, but a journey of growth and transformation through God’s grace.

Happy 3rd Anniversary, Windesi Classis! May you continue to grow, unite, and serve for the glory of God and the blessing of His people.
