Wasior, September 6, 2025 – The Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakor) of Region XII 2025 was held in an atmosphere of unity and dedication to responsible ministry. This meeting served as a forum for evaluating programs and finances for the third quarter (July–September 2025), attended by representatives from the Regional Working Bodies (Badan Pekerja Klasis) and the Church Service Working Bodies (BPPG) from six classes under Region XII: Wondama, Windesi, Rumberpon, Ransiki, Hatam-Oransbari, and Bintuni.
The event began with a warm welcome to guests and participants dressed in traditional attire, reflecting the rich cultural heritage and contextual spirit of the church in Papua. The opening worship was led by Candidate Preacher Alvin Parinussa, S.Si.Teol., who delivered a reflection based on 1 Peter 2:1–10, entitled “Jesus Christ as the Cornerstone.”
In his message, Parinussa reminded all church workers that every act of ministry must be built upon the firm foundation of Christ, the true Cornerstone. The ministry of the church cannot rely on human strength but must be rooted in love, faithfulness, and obedience to God. The reflection was deepened through a symbolic act of laying spiritual stones by representatives of participants—the Stone of Love, Humility, Faithfulness, Sacrifice, Perseverance, Justice, Forgiveness, Wisdom, Cooperation, and the Cornerstone—along with a foundation stone laid by a representative of the local government. This act symbolized that both ministry and church development must be carefully and rightly built upon Christ.
Following the worship, Rev. L. Nasadit, Chairperson of the Organizing Committee and also Pastor of GKI Imanuel Kubiari Congregation, presented his report. He shared about the preparations and efforts made up to the successful implementation of the Rakor and encouraged all participants to work together to ensure the success of the entire program as a shared responsibility in ministry.
A speech from the representative of the Teluk Wondama Regency Government, delivered by the Head of the Inspectorate Office, emphasized that the Rakor is an expression of the church’s public accountability in ministry. He underlined the important role of the church in holistic human development—spiritually and physically. Referring to the parable of the talents, he reminded the participants that every servant of God is called to develop the gifts and trust entrusted by Him. The local government expressed appreciation for the church’s partnership in building society and hoped that coordination would be strengthened, programs would become more impactful, and financial management would remain transparent and accountable.
Meanwhile, Rev. Rosalie Wamafma, M.Mis., Chairperson of Region XII BPS, in her address, stressed that the Rakor is not merely a routine meeting but a sacred opportunity to evaluate ministry together and strengthen unity among servants of God. She called on participants to become living stones—faithful, obedient, and responsible in carrying out their ministry in each region.
She further reaffirmed the meaning of the parable of the talents as a call for every servant to be a good and faithful steward. In her remarks, Rev. Wamafma also reminded participants that this Rakor forms part of the preparation toward the Centennial Celebration of the Prophecy of Isak Samuel Kijne, a historic and spiritual milestone for the Evangelical Christian Church (GKI) in Papua.
The opening session concluded with the beating of the tifa (traditional drum), symbolizing the official commencement of the entire Rakor 2025 program.
Through this event, participants were reminded that church ministry is not only about programs and financial reports but about faithfulness in placing Christ as the foundation of all service—the Cornerstone that holds everything together.
“Stones must be arranged carefully and correctly; likewise, church programs and finances must be managed with responsibility and love.”
The Region XII Coordination Meeting 2025 stands as a meaningful moment for the church to reaffirm its commitment to transparent, accountable, and Christ-centered ministry, in pursuit of justice, peace, and well-being for all God’s people in Papua
