Tamoge, February 11, 2025 — GKI Elim Tamoge Congregation hosted the 4th Anniversary celebration of the GKI Windesi Classis Office. The two-day event was filled with meaning, beginning with a torch parade on the night of February 10 and followed by a Thanksgiving worship service and various competitions that strengthened the bond among congregants.

The celebration commenced with a torch parade, starting from Werianggi Village and ending at the yard of GKI Elim Tamoge Church. This parade symbolized the unity and enthusiasm of the congregation in welcoming the anniversary milestone of this ministry institution.

The highlight of the event was the Thanksgiving Worship Service, led by CPF Jhon Asso, S.Si.Teol. The Scripture reading was taken from 2 Corinthians 8:1–15, emphasizing the importance of unity among congregations as a model of mutual support in church ministry.

The celebration was enlivened by several competitions, including:

  • Psalm and Gospel Song Singing Competition

  • Dignified Attire Contest for Elders and Deacons

The event was attended by PHMJ Chairpersons from across the Windesi Classis, Elders and Deacons, representatives from the local government and traditional leaders, as well as members of the congregations within the Classis service area.

In his remarks, the Secretary of the Windesi Classis, Rev. Augustus R.B. Torey, expressed gratitude to God for His guidance over the four-year journey of the Classis Office ministry. He reaffirmed the importance of unity as the theme for the 2025 service year and encouraged all church stakeholders to work together in implementing the church’s decisions and service directions.

He also extended appreciation to the Candidate Preachers, who successfully prepared the entire anniversary celebration in a short period, ensuring the events proceeded smoothly and meaningfully.

This anniversary served as a moment of reflection and renewed commitment to building more effective and sustainable ministry across the GKI Windesi Classis.(Paul Kapisa)
