Planting Trees; Planting Goodness
“Planting trees is an investment for life. Make every tree a legacy for future generations.”
Trees are one of God's creations that are incredibly significant for human life and other living beings. Every part of a tree provides various benefits. In addition, trees serve as homes for many creatures, offering not only comfort but also life through oxygen production, providing human needs, and acting as a safeguard against natural disasters such as floods or landslides.
Tree planting is often seen as a simple activity, yet it has a profound impact on the environment and our lives. The world today is facing numerous problems: environmental crises, climate change, pollution, and deforestation caused by corporate activities. These issues contribute to global warming, which affects human life.
God has entrusted humans with the great responsibility of caring for and preserving His creations to ensure that the order, harmony, and balance of nature are maintained. One effective solution we can offer is tree planting. By planting trees, we can promote the creation of an ecological balance and help preserve environmental harmony.
Today, the younger generation plays a crucial role in maintaining environmental sustainability. With awareness and concrete action, we can inspire the surrounding community to join in the movement of tree planting. Planting trees is one of the simplest yet most impactful actions we can take. Through cooperation, we can make a real contribution to the environment and a better future.
This is reflected in the actions of PAR GKI Elim Tamoge, during the Easter Camping 2025 event. Children, teenagers, and youth are encouraged to reflect on the resurrection of Christ, which brings life and new hope. Similarly, the tree planting movement marks the joy of resurrection, hope, and the promise of a better future.
So, how can we begin planting trees?
Here are a few messages we can share:
-
Tree planting can start in our immediate environment, such as the yard of our house, school, church, or even within a broader community.
-
Choose trees that are suited to the soil and climate conditions. For homes, churches, or offices, we can opt for environmentally-friendly ornamental trees or fruit trees.
-
Provide care and maintenance to ensure the trees grow well.
-
Encourage those around us to take part in environmental preservation. Utilize social media to spread positive messages about the importance of environmental care.
Let’s plant trees for the future!(Paul Kapisa)
